DURAFLOW Heavy Duty CJ-4/SN 15W-40 Motor Oil has been formally approved by the API for meeting the CJ-4 specification. This specification was introduced in 2007 and is safe to use where modern diesel emission control systems are used including exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), diesel particulate filters (DPF), diesel oxidation catalysts, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.
The API considers their specifications “backward compatible” which allows DURAFLOW Heavy Duty 15W-40 Diesel Engine Oil to be used in older diesel powered engines calling for older or obsolete API specifications such as CI-4PLUS, CI-4 and CH-4.
